Shopper fuel dockets limited

Coles and Woolworths have finalised a deal with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to par back their petrol discounting schemes.

They will continue to offer 4 cents per litre fuel discounts but will cease higher fuel discounts.

They have agreed to address the concern that larger discounts could adversely affect competition over time and from 1 January 2014 they will no longer offer any fuel discounts above the 4 cents per litre to supermarket customers.

The ANF worked with the ARA and other small business organisations to appeal for an end to the practice.

    • I am a bit surprised we didn’t hear complaint from odd consumer groups saying they have been duded from these big discounts. Perhaps they understand that they just pay for the petrol discount when they shop.
