Conquering fear in 2014

Signature:baed3687aecc9fc02b05e033f52ab04b5ac34144c6f0702c4e0cfe36f9d34041A supplier said to me today that some newsagents appear to be paralysed with fear, standing in the middle of the road with lights approaching and unable to move, not know which way to turn.
We all know you have to move, turn or else be run over…
I have a friend who is unemployed and he spends days making one job application ‘perfect’. He doesn’t want to send off for fear of being rejected. And so nothing is achieved.
It is sad that fear dominates over the motivation for joy or achievement.
Let’s get some positive motivation into our lives.

Have you stories about overcoming fear or ideas to conquer it?

  1. Comfort Zones the Genesis of Fear
I’d like to share a key issue, which every successful business owner needs to consider at the beginning of every year. That is – predicting the future of your business.
Running a successful business is about working hard, but enjoying all the rewards. It’s about earning much more than you need. It’s about being able to build a wall of financial security around your loved ones, which nothing can break.
If you want to know where your business will be in 12 months’ time, take a look at your progress over the past 12 months, then project it forward 12 months.
In other words, if you continue with the same mindset, values and strategies, you can expect more of the same. That’s the natural law of Causality.
Cause and effect assures us that if you want another year just like the last one, you should carry on with what you have been doing. By doing the same things (causes) you will get the same results (effects). However, if you want more from 2014 than you experienced in 2013, you need to make a decision.
How open to new opportunities can I get my mind?
You need to embrace the improvements required, to get you from where you are to where you want to be. This means accepting the need to change… to move from what is comfortable and failing you, to what is unfamiliar, but effective.

    • Albert Einstein said “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”
We dont like to harp, but who’s insane?
(This just reminded me to change some of my daily processes.)
Have we any sane newsagents? Prove it!! I await your inspired, new ideas – and they only have to be little improvements to pass the sanity test.
