See below my favourite merchandising idea from the pinboard. A Christmas tree decorated with ornaments which are all for sale. If a customers likes what they see, they take the ornament off the tree to buy it.. how creative!
Pinterest is an excellent social media channel to refer to, for merchandising ideas for the big holiday seasons—it’s a great way to see how other retail businesses around the world approach visual merchandising.
Designed to be an online pinboard, Pinterest allows you to scroll through images, and ‘pin’ them to virtual pinboard, to be accessed later on. It can be used on a desktop, and well as through the app, so is very convenient to use while on the go. It’s one of the most popular apps used by those under 30 – ask your younger staff members, and see how many are on Pinterest – you would be surprised by how many use it regularly!
