Have you had a chance to think about how you will be merchandising your store, to entice customers to wander in and stock up on Christmas gifts and supplies? If you’re in need of some inspiration, click here to have a look at the Christmas Merchandising Inspiration Pinterest board we have put together. See below my favourite merchandising idea from the pinboard. A Christmas tree decorated with ornaments which are all for sale. If a customers likes what they see, they take the ornament off the tree to buy it.. how creative!

Great sign instructing customers to take the ornament off the tree to buy it if they like it! GIFT SHOP Magazine

Pinterest is an excellent social media channel to refer to, for merchandising ideas for the big holiday seasons—it’s a great way to see how other retail businesses around the world approach visual merchandising.

Designed to be an online pinboard, Pinterest allows you to scroll through images, and ‘pin’ them to virtual pinboard, to be accessed later on. It can be used on a desktop, and well as through the app, so is very convenient to use while on the go.  It’s one of the most popular apps used by those under 30 – ask your younger  staff members, and see how many are on Pinterest – you would be surprised by how many use it regularly!

National Newsagent published an article about Pinterest, how to set up an account and how to use it for your business some time ago – click here to have a read of this.

If you would like more information, or need some help getting a Pinterest account set up, please feel free to email news@anf.net.au.

Happy pinning!
