ABCs: Sport and Leisure and Special Interest titles remain steady amidst a sea of declines

Weekly titles

Weekly celebrity titles have seen steady declines, with Bauer Media’s NW posting the highest YoY decline of 15%, with Pacific Magazines titles Famous and Who following closely with declines of 14.5% and 12% respectively.

Zoo Weekly’s circulation figures have declined further, now posting a YoY decline of 36.3%.

Monthly titles

For the first time in the publication’s history, Frankie has seen a decline in YoY circulation, of 3.5%.

Of the monthlies, Bauer Media’s teen title Dolly has seen the most  significant circulation decline, of 42.2% YoY, followed by AFR Smart Investor (-34% YoY) and Quokka (-32.3% YoY).

AFL Record experience the highest YoY circulation increase of 34.3%, followed by Australian Traveller (+15.1% YoY) and Sport Fishing Australia Magazine (+10% YoY).

  1. Not very surprising as Newsagents are devoting less space to magazines all over, and why wouldn’t they margins are small and distributors use them as a dumping ground for poor titles.
