The ABC results released today have proved to be extremely insightful, particularly in regard to the readership of special interest titles.
While Mumbrella stated “Non-weekly magazines shifted nearly 200,000 fewer copies in the first six months of this year compared to the same period the year before”, several special interest titles posted significant YoY circulation increases; Prevention up 30.7% YoY, Freshwater Fishing Australia up 16.8% YoY and Australian Caravan + RV up 9.6% YoY. Australian Handyman posted an impressive circulation of 52,045, a figure higher than what was posted for some long-standing fashion and lifestyles titles.
It goes to show that there is significant demand for special interest titles, which cater well to their target audiences.
