Got a News supply problem? UK agents Tweet

The NFRN (National Federation of Retail Newsagents) reports that they are using Twitter to manage supply complaints.

Use the hashtag #NewsComplaints newsagents can share their concerns with wholesalers and publishers directly.

Late delivered newspapers continue to be of significant concern to members and, sadly, instances are reported somewhere in the UK virtually every day.

The NFRN holds regular talks with both news wholesalers and publishers at a senior level where we share examples of poor service levels and discuss ways these can be tackled. To heighten awareness, we are now making it possible for you to share your concerns and explain the impact that late or missing supplies have on your business directly with publishers and wholesalers via Twitter.

Publishers and news wholesalers have committed to taking action at the earliest opportunity.

To make the most of this new communication platform we would recommend that you include the following when tweeting:

  • Detail the exact lost of sale

  • Share customer comments and complaints

  • Be honest

  • Avoid using bad language or making personal threats

  • Share what the customer next did i.e  pick up another newspaper, go elsewhere, not buy a paper.

Remember, though, you only have 140 characters to use in your tweet.
