Sad to see Taylor Square Newsagency in Sydney’s Oxford Street close

How things change! Once an award winning newsagency renowned for its huge range of magazines and long opening hours, Taylor Square Newsagency in Sydney’s Oxford Street is closing this week.

Oxford Street is no longer the busy shopping and entertainment strip that it used to be and retail has struggled there for a few years, especially so after the ‘lockout laws’. Sydney City Council has tried various measures to revive it but not soon enough for this newsagency.

  1. This is a real shame. I’ve struggled ever since to find a lot of fashion magazines I need. I know plenty of people in my industry have had the same issue.

Does anyone know any newsagency in the city or eastern suburbs that would now have the largest range of magazines?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • Hi DH,

Definitely a huge loss for consumers who are after large ranges of magazines! I’ve been told that the Village Newsagency in Surry Hills Shopping Village stocks a pretty big range of local and international fashion mags – perhaps you could have a look there?
